As most of the knifes that are found online are the surplus version of the stores so making an effective purchase is not an easy and trouble free task. The second hand variety of knifes can be easily prone to damage. As the cheap and inferior second hand models are easily subjected to damage so it is always a better choice not to make purchase of such items.

The best possible way to use such products is to sharpen the knife edges. There are many reasons as to why they form a well accepted choice. The items can be operated in a relatively easy and trouble-free approach. There is minimal associated danger involved in the operation of such items.

Peter Marker Damascus Folder: Being a fan of Peter Marker’s work, I snagged this puppy up real fast when I saw it come on sale on Bladeforums. Peter is one of the best values in Damasteel folders out there, bar none. He is a relatively low-key maker from Australia, and does some fantastic work.

Kirby Lambert Mother of Pearl Damascus: My lastest acquisition from the mind of Kirby Lambert, this Mother of Pearl Damascus Incinerator folder is both bold and breathtaking. Imposing in size at 4 in blade length and an overall length of 8 3/4, this knife not only looks, but feels the part.

Peter Marker Micro Damascus Folder: Here is another remarkably well-made folder from Australia’s Peter Marker. Unfortunately Peter is no longer making knives as far as I know, but his legacy lives on through the many knives he made during his career. My favourite thing about Peter’s knives were that they were always Damascus, and always affordable. He was the only maker that would sell a perfectly made damascus folder for $350.

Cold Steel Night Force Folder: This is the first Cold Steel knife I have reviewed on this site, and is one of not many that I have owned. I have never been a big fan of the company, as I see their high end knives as overpriced, and their lower end knives inferior to FRN Spydercos of a similar pricepoint. Having said that, I was quite pleased with this Night Force knife that I received in a trade.

Mike Obenauf Small Model 2 Custom: This is a customized Model 2 Framelock from the now defunct Mike Obenauf. Though this knife is extremely similar to the other Model 2 framelock I reviewed last year, I felt that I should review it partly because Mike has also retired from knifemaking, and this peice is rather unique.

Matt Cucchiara Small Poncho Folding Knife: The second of two Matt Cucchiara knives in my collection, the Small Poncho was something I asked Matt if he would consider making after I saw his full sized one. I really have a thing for blades in the 3 to 3 1/2 inch zone, and this one would go well with the Sirocco that I already had.

Spyderco Vesuvius Knife C66PBK: The Spyderco Vesuvius is one of the few FRN handled Spydies to have a smooth contoured handle, which I really like. It is also designed by Frank Centofante, which I was a bit surprised about. The design is much more in-house looking to me, but either way, I love the look and feel!

CRKT E-Lock Bronze Folding Knife: Among most knife Collectors, CRKT has the image of being an entry level brand that uses entry level cutlery steels, and affordable materials in the production of their knives. That may be true to some degree, but CRKT sells a lot of knives, and has some great designers collaborating with them. One of them is Allen Elishewitz.
